The element is what creates the ozone. With use an invisible film can build up on the elements and prevent them from producing the maximum amount of ozone.
Reduced ozone production indicates it is time to clean the elements. If treatments are not as effective as they initially were, or the smell of ozone is not detected after the treatment, the ozone output has probably diminished and the elements need to be cleaned.
Cleaning the elements is quick and easy. Use rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth to remove any build up and then let them dry thoroughly before placing back into your ozone generator.
If used daily or in caustic environments, the film may not be removable after a number of cleanings, requiring replacement.
We recommend cleaning the elements monthly for best results.
